From July 11 to August 4, 2013, in the village of Obidos, you will find the 11th edition of Medieval Obidos. This year we have as a central theme - From the Reconquest (1148) to the Royal Charter(1195).
The Medieval Festival of Obidos will be running on Thursdays and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Craftsmen, juglers, innkeepers, merchants, watermen, vendors and other medieval characters will enliven daily Obidos Medieval Festival. Visitors can sample various culinary delights and see the arts and crafts of the 12th, 13th and 14th centuries.

Regarding the animation, the Medieval Market of Obidos will have the participation of various groups of music, animation and weapon groups from around the country, highlighting the return of renowned Strella Day to the Medieval Market of Obidos and bet on the horse tournaments by the Company Group of Free weapons, as well as an increase of street theater and enterteinment, allowing greater interaction with the visitors.
Even as a highlight, will be held the 2nd Tournament of Medieval Archery, on July 28, organized by the Mayor's Guard, following last year.
There will also be a partnership with the Pousada de Obidos for holding a Royal Banquet, on August 3, in the courtyard of the Castle Inn. Humberto Marques says that the event will have about 150-200 staff and historical reenactors.
